Background :

Geospatial  technology  has  the  capability  of  integrating  spatial,  non  spatial  & attributes data to generate visual perspectives along with relevant information that has significant utility in planning & monitoring all developmental activities. Supported with  web/enterprise GIS,  mobile internet  and  high resolution  satellite data,  the technology  unfolds  a tremendous  potential  of  new  possibilities  of  tapping  and analyzing various data in a spatial context to generate useful information. Various organizations both private & public sector, have utilized the technology to develop system  capable  of  providing  tools  to generate  planning  related  spatial  &  nonspatial data as well as to monitor various measurable parameters. Such developments of geo-spatial technology application possibilities need to be shared amongst various stake  holders like  scientists,  administrators,  policy & plan  makers,  entrepreneurs, students, etc. to generate needed awareness to expand the use and to evolve new possibilities to make planning & monitoring more simpler & effective.

The  proposed  workshop  is  intended  to  organize  a  platform  to  showcase  the achievements  in  different  aspects  of  geo-spatial  technology,  for  the  benefit  of different stakeholders.
